We had a hankering to decorate for Easter, so we went hippity-hopping to our friend Sadie Blossom for some egg-spert advice!

Sadie showed us how to draw designs, patterns and words with a clear wax crayon on the shells of hard boiled eggs. Those parts will stay white, even when the egg is colored with dye.

Sadie had a lot of work in front of her with all those eggs to decorate, but she was still very careful, holding each egg very gently with a special dipper.

See how the crayon drawings are showing up in the dyed areas? Sadie had lots of fun dipping parts of some of the eggs into different colors so she could make festive designs.

When Sadie's mom was her age, she just had plain ol' solid dyes. Now they come in glitter, tattoos, speckles and many other fun varieties. Lucky Sadie!

See how much the paint colors popped out on a plain white shell? Sadie was egg-static, but she wasn't finished having fun yet.

Sadie peeled the plastic off a temporary tattoo and pressed it against an egg shell with a damp paper towel.
